ClearFill comprises a modular mix of passive and active technologies that include new options for harnessing and distributing RF signals inside buildings and tunnels. One such example of ClearFill's installations is at Macau 's newest casino resort, the Venetian Macau Resort. Here, wireless indoor communication was awarded to a group of solutions providers featuring RFS who, in conjunction with Ericsson, designed the first phase of the Venetian's new wireless communications infrastructure, and also provided a range of passive WINS equipment.
In total RFS designed and supplied a distributed antenna network for the Venetian's hotel and its 50,000m2 of gaming area. The ClearFill element consists of some 3,000 point-source antennas and 500 indoor panel antennas, linked together via RFS's CellFlex foam-dielectric coaxial transmission line.
The Venetian's broadband supports four of Macau's commercial carriers, and has the capability to accommodate additional networks. ClearFill in turn supports frequencies up to 2.2GHz, 2G services, and 3G networks. This is particularly important, as the Macau Government has only just recently awarded 3G licences.
In another new Macau casino resort, the Wynn Macau Resort, RFS recently implemented a wireless indoor communications system featuring both passive and active ClearFill elements. A combination of RFS point-source antennas, indoor panel antennas, CellFlex transmission line and in-line amplifiers make up part of the Wynn wireless communications system.
RFS is now turning its attention to the latest Macau casino development, the MGM Grand Macau. Here, it will supply a number of passive ClearFill solutions that are to be incorporated into the MGM Grand's wireless indoor infrastructure.
