Bosnia-Herzegovina’s BH Telecom is upgrading its core network with Ericsson Nikola Tesla.
The HRK14.8 million (US$2.1 million) deal is the latest agreement in a longstanding partnership between the two firms, and will see the vendor help to create a new Mobile Softswitch Solution (MSS).
The operator’s General Manager Sedin Kahriman said: “The project will secure the continuity of providing voice, SMS, roaming and other services for the users of BH Telecom’s mobile services on a very high level, with reliability and quality, which represents creating prerequisites for the implementation of the next generation mobile services (VoLTE), and maintenance cost optimisation.”
The is set to last five years, with several phases of implementation planned throughout this time. Kahriman noted that this would ensure network stability as BH Telecom transitions to the latest generation of mobile networks.
