Sri Lankan operator Dialog Axiata has tapped telecoms systems vendor Intracom Telecom to enhance its fixed wireless access (FWA) technology.
In a statement, the Greece-based company said it extended the supply of its 10.5Ghz FWA solution to the operator and is an extension of a partnership that stretches back to 2015.
Then, the operator signed up for Intracom Telecom’s WiBAS technology which is used to enhance the quality of Dialog’s broadband services and network coverage.
Intracom said it satisfied criteria set by the operator to gain renewal of its WiBAS technology. It enabled the operator to deploy high-quality broadband infrastructure to connect homes and businesses rapidly while allowing the launch of new services. The solution can be installed onto base station sites as well as homes and rooftops similar to a conventional TV satellite dish.
Dialog Axiata Group CTO Pradeep De Almeida said: “This high capacity solution ensures the optimum utilisation of network resources while enabling us to satisfy the ever-increasing broadband access demand of end-users.”
The latest contract victory follows Intracom bagging a multi-year contract with Ecomaks Solutions in Serbia, and an upgrade project for the government of Botswana.
