Airtel Africa extends managed services partnership

Airtel Africa extends managed services partnership

Hard on the heels of yesterday’s deal between Airtel Kenya and Nokia comes news that the partnership between Airtel Africa and CSG, a provider of revenue management and digital monetization, payments and customer engagement solutions, has been extended.

As part of the enhanced agreement, CSG will provide Airtel Africa with managed services, including customer relationship management and convergent charging and billing solutions to support the growth the company is experiencing through its 14-country footprint across Africa.

Neelesh Pratap Singh, group CIO, Airtel Africa, has been quoted as saying that Airtel Africa actively seeks solutions that support a holistic and seamless IT landscape so that it can benefit from reduced operational overhead, streamlined business operations, and scalable growth models.

Indeed, CSG says its managed services will help bring consistency and scalability across Airtel Africa’s business operations to support its growth across Africa, bring new services to market quickly, boost operational efficiencies and reduce costs.

CSG Managed Services provides application configuration management and business operations for companies worldwide.  By supporting customers’ IT and business operations, CSG says it allows companies to focus on their core business functions resulting in reduced annual technology costs while increasing reliability, scalability, security and overall system performance.

This is the second big announcement from Airtel’s African operation in as many days. Yesterday we reported that Nokia had secured a three-year deal to upgrade Airtel Kenya networks, a move that has laid the foundations for a commercial 5G rollout in the capital, Nairobi.
