Zain takes two to Tango

Tango Telecom, which provides advanced messaging, real-time charging and policy control solutions, has won contracts to deploy its advanced iAX SMS technology with Zain's Ghana and Madagascar mobile networks.

iAX SMS enables prepaid and postpaid charging, and storage and delivery of A2P, P2P and P2A messages, while enabling advanced revenue-generating messaging services from a single high performance platform. The solution is deployed on the proven Tango iAX Platform, a platform which is at the core of some of the highest capacity SMS networks worldwide.

iAX SMS can be extended to offer revenue generating and VAS services such as SMS broadcast, SMS router and content management services, anti-bullying, anti-spam, SMS advertising and a range of other VAS features. The Tango iAX platform enables interoperability between all network types, IP/WiMax, GSM and CDMA, so as to ensure future proofing of the investment for the operators as they expand and enhance their network coverage.

Rory O'Toole, Vice-President of Global Channel Sales, Tango Telecom, explains: "We are delighted to announce the signing of these deals with Zain...This is a vote of confidence by the Zain Group in Tango Telecom's ability to deliver high quality, competitive solutions to the emerging markets. Through our carrier-grade, open-architecture iAX platform...Tango Telecom provides the assurance and confidence our customers need to embark on aggressive and innovative growth strategies".

Mohamed Rafi, CIO of the Zain Group, remarked, "...By deploying iAX SMS, we can rapidly and confidently expand our SMS delivery capabilities and data revenue capture. From a single platform, Zain can quickly rollout the Tango Telecom product suite to launch both basic and advanced services, attracting and retaining valued customers. At the same time, we can ensure the highest quality user experience as we acquire new subscribers..."
