IoT hardware manufacturer Cavli Wireless announced plans to start manufacturing modules in India based on GCT Semiconductor chipsets, a move to broaden its business in India’s growing IoT market.

In a statement, the company said this marks a first-ever initiative to manufacture industry-grade LTE/LPWAN IoT modules in India.

“India is an emerging hub of IoT product development for the global market and an IoT module designed, developed, and manufactured in India is already welcoming news for Cavli’s existing customer base”, noted the US-based company.

GCT Semiconductor designs and develops LTE chipset solutions for the 4G LTE, LPWAN, and 5G wireless communication industry.

As key highlight of the collaboration is the development of the LTE CAT M1/NB1/NB2 C42GM Smart IoT Module, based on GCT technology. It features integrated eSIM, Sigfox compatibility and other features which broadens asset tracking capabilities.

The C42GM will start shipping out globally, on a mass production basis from Q1 2021.
