Burkina Faso’s regulator ARCEP has warned all three of the country’s major operators that they are failing to uphold the quality of service (QoS) standards stipulated by their licences.
After conducting an audit across April and May 2022, ARCEP has issued Orange Burkina Faso, Telecel Faso and Moov Africa Burkina Faso with a formal notice regarding the matter. The operators will be fined if they do not improve their call connection and drop rates, voice quality and data connection speeds by 31st December 2022.
In the notice, ARCEP said: “Following the formal warnings, a further audit will be carried out to ensure that the operators have rectified their shortcomings. Failure to comply with the provisions of the decision will lead to the application of sanctions, as provided for under existing regulations.”
