Estonia opens applications for 700MHz auction

Estonian regulator TTJA (Tarbijakaitse ja Tehnilise Jarelevalve Amet / Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority) has commenced its latest round of 5G spectrum auctions, with six lots in the 700MHz band available.

Licences are available at a reserve price of EUR1 million (US$993,000), with each covering a 2×5MHz holding of spectrum. CommsUpdate reports that participants may acquire a maximum of two licences.

Interested parties have until 10th October to apply for the auctions, which TTJA expects to conduct in November ahead of issuing the licences before the end of this year. The regulator held auctions for 3.5GHz spectrum between May and July this year, with Elisa, Tele2 and Telia all obtaining licences.
