Vi Wi-Fi calling comes in Haryana, now in 12 circles in India

Vi (Vodafone Idea) has expanded its Wi-Fi calling facility in the Indian state of Haryana. With this, the Wi-Fi calling service by the telecom company has been expanded to a total of twelve circles in India.

All Vi prepaid and postpaid customers in the state can now use Wi-Fi calling service by Vi and make and receive voice calls over Wi-Fi networks when their cellular network is unreliable. The telecom operator started rolling out Wi-Fi calling in the country in 2020.

"Vi VoWiFi calling service provides seamless and extended indoor coverage on all broadband networks. Initially, it was limited to a few circles. Wii’s Wi-Fi calling service is now available in twelve regions," explained the release.

Vi VoWifi calling service is currently available in Delhi & NCR, Gujarat, Mumbai, M&G, Punjab, Rajasthan, UP, and West Bengal. Vi is in the process of extending VoWifi to more locations over the coming months.

The Vi WiFi calling service is free for subscribers with unlimited plans. Those with other packs will be charged according to the base tariff plan.

Vi has been the last major telecom provider to offer WiFi calling, with Airtel and Jio already supporting the feature.

Wi-Fi calling lets subscribers counter weak cellular community points and permit them to make and obtain voice calls over Wi-Fi as a substitute. Customers must preserve each VoLTE (voice over LTE) and Wi-Fi calling switched on to make use of the service.
